I usually only drive in flats or bare feet, but I tried driving back from Karrinyup in my Filippo Raphaels today - they're a lot lower than anything else I've got, and I'd tried using toes only on my way out in socks.
Right foot I barely noticed the difference, but lost a lot of finesse on my clutch foot, so I lost that one the second traffic lights I got to. Still less hassle than changing altogether on arrival and departure.
(oh, and lol at current music - totally unplanned! Better not be prophetic :-P )

Can happen in any shoes I guess, really, but more likely in heals due to lever-action n stuff (if that makes sense to you..)
...when I went looking for heels for my Swancon costume, I found some truly beautiful (and very expensive) heels
and the (very upmarket) shop which sold them had an A4 piece of paper at the cash register warning in 12 pt font about the dangers of walking and driving in them, and saying that the store would not be held legally responsible.
Which I thought was unusual. It's an international chain - wonder if they got sued in the US?
Curious about the piece of paper - I've never seen its like!
I do know someone who wrote off their car the first time they went out in some new platforms - foot slipped and ran into the back of another vehicle at the lights. Mind you, it was also the first time they'd been out after weeks of being bedridden with glandular fever.
